The MOREL family has specialised for over fifty years in
the selective breeding and growing of cyclamen in the south
of France. Their varieties show a unique capacity to withstand
heat.
Up till 1975, Charles MOREL had been developing varieties
by traditional methods.
Then Guy MOREL (qualified biological engineer at the French
Ecole Nationale of Horticultural Technology) worked out modern
techniques for breeding F1 hybrids (8 to 10 years work
are needed to breed each variety and put it into production).
The first Ch.Morel F1 hybrids went on sale in 1989; today
they have a worldwide reputation.
MOREL Diffusion operates an efficient establishment, with
3 hectares under glass, built up between 1970 and 1978 (belonging
to its subsidiary SCEA of MONTOUREY).
The Company is both one of the major producers of grown cyclamen
(200 000 cyclamens sold in the south of France) and itself
a seed merchant, producing its own F1 hybrid seed.
In all of
the various crafts of the Companys professional activity,
this long-standing know-how makes itself felt :
> breeding
> seed production
> sowing and young plant production
> trials of new varieties
> seed sorting
> seed storage and packaging
> technical advice and marketing
MOREL experience is a guarantee of quality for you in the
