Watering needs to be managed in a way that takes account of the physical properties of the growth medium and its contents.
Water availability in the medium governs what watering should be done: a medium with low water availability will need watering little and often. Watering is initiated in such a way as to keep the right amount of water in the medium for the plant to be able to make use of it. Watering management needs therefore to take account of the physical properties of the medium and of the container.
If an establishment does not have a certain minimum of equipment, it is better to use mediums with a high water availability.
